I am a wife of 3 years and the mother of a wonderful 4-month-old boy. My passion is to provide a loving and God glorifying environment for my family.

I am a homeschool graduate and completed 3 years of Church Music study at Northland International University with an emphasis in voice before being promoted to motherhood. I play viola, piano and sing on our church’s worship team regularly.

I have worked in two different libraries, which I loved. I have also worked at camp Gitche Gumee . My most recent job was manager of the Costume Room at Northland for 4 years where I designed and built costumes for over a dozen plays. It was a blast!

I love do-it-yourself projects and decorating my home on a budget. I’m a big coffee lover and I like trying out new recipes, even if some of them don’t turn out. I suppose I could say that Pinterest is a hobby, because I love browsing the categories looking for inspiration.  To see any of my projects, personal and home-life musings you can visit my personal blog .

I love to read, mostly within the genre of fantasy, although I do love anything Jane Austen. I love the Inheritance Cycle, The Chronicles of Narnia and I recently read the Wingfeather Saga by Andrew Peterson and thoroughly enjoyed it.

My favorite genres of music are classical and jazz. Romantic era composers are my favorite with Brahms and Dvorak being at the very top of the list. Count Basie, Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole and Ella Fitzgerald are just a few of my favorites in the jazz category.

I have recently been introduced to the BBC TV series Dr. Who and am very much a fan. I love BBC and have watched several of the series from it. I also like The Mentalist, Once Upon a Time, and shows like Say Yes to the Dress and What Not to Wear. My favorite movie is probably the BBC version of Northanger Abbey, but it’s hard to choose just one!

I like to study current issues like feminism and it’s affect on motherhood and the church, motherhood and parenting, and church music and worship.

  1. Nice to meet you too, Mariam! My sister plays the cello – it’s always nice to have a sister that’s into music. Violists are pretty hard to come by! Jane Austen is a master with words, she’s an inspiration. Thanks for stopping by and reading our blog! 🙂
